Academy garden project seeks volunteers

Students at The South Leeds Academy are looking for community volunteers to help them realise their plans for a new  garden for the school.

TSLA Garden

During the last academic year, a group of talented students had the privilege of working with Tom Bellfield, Architecture graduate from the University of Sheffield.

The group were tasked with re-designing the academy’s garden and creating a space that would function both as an area for students to study and relax whilst still having the traditional fruit and vegetable growing ability. After a year of research, brainstorming and model making, the girls finally presented their ideas to the principal who agreed that they had fulfilled their brief with both creativity and style.

The group now want to start the actual work on the plot and are looking for community volunteers to assist with the clearing of the area. If you are able to give up a day or two during  week commencing Monday 11 April,  please contact Deborah Easton at The South Leeds Academy on (0113) 212 7147; or email: eastond@tsla.org.uk.
