 Appeal for witnesses

On Wednesday 20th May 2015 near to Middleton Park Road, Middleton, Leeds, a lone elderly female was walking to catch her bus at approximately 9.10am.

A male on a bike has ridden up behind her and attempted to steal her handbag. The force of this has dragged the victim to the floor causing her injuries to her arms and legs. As she has looked up she briefly saw the suspect who she describes as a white male, about 5’10, slim build aged between 16 – 26 years old. He was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and dark coloured bottoms. He was riding a light coloured BMX or possibly a small mountain bike. He rode away in the direction of Dewsbury Road.

This incident has caused distress and upset to the victim. The investigation is still ongoing, if anyone has any information they are urged to contact the police.
