The Belle Isle and Middleton in Bloom group goes from strength to strength.

At our last meeting, (our biggest turnout yet) Representative from Sharp Lane School came as well as representatives from Beeston In bloom Group.

Two women came along from Keepmoat and A gentleman from Leeds Federation Housing. There was also Richard from Leeds In Bloom and Ian from Health For All. So quite a busy morning, well attended and loads of advise been given.

Even Extra seating had to be brought in to the board room at BITMO GATE to accommodate everyone.belle isle in bloom 3

Thursday 5 February the Belle Isle and Middleton In Bloom group will be planting small trees/hedgerow. Would you like to volunteer and help us? If so please meet at BITMO GATE (old Belle Isle library) just before 10.00. We will be leaving the GATE at 10.00 to go down to Low Grange Crescent. Thank you.

Last November the group with help from Parks and Countryside, BITMO Caretakers planted 10 cherry trees on Rosedale fields. The Rosedale patch group had obtained Community first funding for the trees that have been planted on the edge of the field and can be seen from Old Run Road going up to South Academy School.

The group also planted a mixture of bulbs in the planters and beds that are on Winrose Avenue, which will add a splash of colour in the Spring.

The group are planning some exiting projects for 2015 including hanging baskets and planters along Belle Isle Road that will be sponsored by local business.

Anyone interested in joining the group is welcome to come along to the meetings that are held at BITMO GATE once a month.

The next Belle Isle& Middleton in Bloom meeting is on Tuesday 24th February, 12pm -1pm at BITMO GATE.
