Christmas is coming to Beeston, Holbeck and Cottingley

Christmas is nearly upon us and we’ve got a number of events coming up to celebrate the festivities in Beeston, Holbeck and Cottingley.

Things started off last Sunday with carol singing around the Christmas tree near the shops at Cottingley. On Thursday of this week (4 December 2014) we will be turning on the Christmas Lights in Beeston (near the mini roundabout next to Beeston Co-op) at 5.30pm followed by free refreshments opposite in the Parish Centre at St Mary’s Church.

And then at the weekend why not pop down to Holbeck Christmas Market at St Matthews Community Centre, off Domestic Street on Saturday (6 December) from 11-3pm. On Sunday (7 December) we will be switching on the Christmas Lights in Holbeck at 5.30pm followed by free refreshments at St Matthew’s Community Centre. My colleagues, Angela Gabriel, David Congreve and I have provided funding as local Councillors to support the Christmas Lights switch ons as we think it’s really important to celebrate Christmas and to bring people of all backgrounds together over the festive period.

There are of course other Christmas events taking place over the coming weeks so keep an eye out here on South Leeds Life for more details.
