Christmas Wonderland – first event in redundant church venue

Ed Carlisle has been in touch with news of an exciting project for Holy Spirit Church on Tempest Road, Beeston.

There are (very tentative) conversations happening about buying the old Holy Spirit church on Tempest Road, and making it available as a low-tech, affordable, inter-community events venue for the wider Beeston community. It will not become a community centre with meeting rooms etc: we’ve plenty of them! There will hopefully be more news about this in the New Year. If it does go ahead we would like as many different people and groups involved.

As part of that journey to start bringing the building alive again, a “Christmas Wonderland” event has been organised in the former church. Journey to Christmas takes place on Thursday 20th December at 6pm.
Please see attached poster for full info.

Everyone is very welcome and it will be a good opportunity see the space. Please spread the word!

Please Note:

  • The building has NO heating – so wrap up well!
  • The building has NO toilets – so go before you come!

  1. Interesting… but do we need another venue?

Wouldn’t we do better making an existing venue more viable I’ve always been amazed in Leeds how different groups seem to feel they need their own venue rather than being better at sharing… but perhaps the Holy Spirit church can offer something we don’t already have??
