Could you lead the parade at Beeston Festival?

The organisers of Beeston Festival are looking for someone to organise a street procession to launch this year’s event, which takes place on Saturday 4 June in Cross Flatts Park.

The festival will have a carnival theme this year to tie in with the Olympic Games taking place in Rio de Janeiro later in the summer. The plan is for a street procession with floats, bands and dancers that will wend its way through Beeston’s streets and arrive in the park to signal the start of the festival.

The festival committee are now looking for an experienced person to organise the parade. As well as booking bands and arranging road closures the individual will liaise with schools and community groups and run workshops to support people who want to join the procession.

Applications for this paid role close on Friday 29 January 2016.
