Half term activities for children

 

The October half term will be upon soon as schools break up on Friday 24 October 2014. We’ve got details of various activities in the area to help you keep your children occupied.

 

Hunslet Club Activity camp Oct 14The Hunslet Club

This October the Hunslet Club have not one, but two half term activity camps. If you’re into your football, their Football camp runs for three days from Monday 27 October. Skills, drills and small sided games all come for £8 per day.

Meanwhile they have a general activity camp running Monday to Friday for school age children promising arts and crafts, dance, football, cooking dodgeball and much more. The camp costs £10 per full day, but you can save £2 per day if you pre-book. Both camps run from 8:45am to 3pm.

 

Asha Neighbouhood Project

The Beeston based project is running its usual half term playscheme for children aged 5-12 years. The activities, which include arts and crafts, cooking and a trip to the cinema, run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 28-30 October. The cost is £10 for the week and bookings are being taken from Monday 20 October at Asha on Stratford Street.

 

The Tetley

The new art gallery, housed in the former Tetley brewery headquarters in Hunslet, is holding  Family Arts Festival over the half term week. Events, all of which are free, include art workshops, robot building and the chance to explore the gallery through the medium of wool.

 

TCV BushcraftSkelton Grange Environment Centre

Head on down to Stourton for a children’s Bushcraft day on Monday 27 October for 8-12 year olds. The day runs from 10am to 4pm, includes shelter building, fire lighting and environmental games and costs £20. If you can’t wait until then, there is a Family Bushcraft Adventure on Saturday 18 October, adults £25, children £15.

 

Middleton Leisure Centre

There is a Sports Camp at Middleton Leisure Centre for 8-16 year olds on Monday 27 October. The day runs from 10am to 3pm.
