Hunslet puts an Easter spring in its step

Hunslet residents gathered for the annual Spring Fayre at the Methodist Church on Saturday – and amongst many other things, battled it out for the acclaimed annual egg rolling crown.

More than fifty local residents of all ages braved the torrential rain outside, to gather and enjoy a morning of games, raffles, stalls (including that of local Fairtrade activist, Barry Parker), and a lot of hot cross buns. The event culminated in the traditional annual egg rolling competition – which was very hard-fought (especially by the adults), but which was ultimately won by the youngest person in the room.

Hunslet Methodists – recently awarded funding by the local Community Committee (as reported here) – run monthly Saturday morning fayres, and free weekly breakfast drop-ins on Wednesdays. All are welcome.
