Lantern Festival returns to Cross Flatts Park

The Christmas Lantern Festival returns to Cross Flatts Park on Friday (12 December 2014). The park will be transformed into a festive wonderland full of lights and sounds! Last year’s Festival was a special time for people from all corners of the community and this year promises to be even better.

Enter at Beeston Road from 5:45pm and follow the lights up to the Watsonian Pavilion where you can meet some animals (donkeys, sheep & goats) and enjoy free refreshments! Also there will be an opportunity to get creative and make your own decoration for the Christmas tree.

At 6:30pm the Salvation Army band will lead some carols and will be joined on stage by local school children, a community choir and a steel drum band from South Leeds Academy. Alongside the music there will be an opportunity to focus and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

The Cross Flatts Park Christmas Lantern Festival is hosted by the Church in Leeds 11 and is funded by The Salvation Army and Community First.

It is sure to be another special night so please do join us and feel free to bring a light or lantern of your own (but no candles please).
