Leeds Waterfront Festival brings family fun to the South Bank

Dragonboats, live music and a ‘splash mob’ of mermaids and pirates will be descending on the River Aire this Saturday and Sunday (28 and 29 June 2014) and we’re all invited.

The Leeds Waterfront Festival takes place at venues along a four mile stretch of the river from Thwaite Mills in Stourton to Leeds Dock and the Royal Armouries, Brewery Wharf and Granary Wharf by the train station.

Dragon Boat

You can watch performances and bands from the best bars and restaurants in Leeds with a fabulous view of the waterfront, or choose from a wealth of specialist street foods stalls on whilst browsing the vintage, handmade and steampunk markets at each site. You can stroll along the canal meeting artists and buskers along the way, take a musical barge trip or hop on the free vintage buses.

On Saturday, you can join in the fun and cheer on the teams at the exciting dragonboat races at Leeds Dock and see the Mermaids and pirates Splash Mob performance takeover each site during the day!

On Sunday there will be a full day of music at Leeds Dock on their floating stage. Acts confirmed include: Happy Daggers, Me and my Friends, The Wedding Crashers, The Big Easy, Kiki DeVille, Maia, We died at sea, Penny and the Sausages, Helen Chambers, Marianna Harlotta, Georgette Hilton, Mark Pollock, Camp Cooks, Speed Dinosaurs, Skank Agenda
