The model layouts will be set amongst the real locos in the Engine House and there will be a full steam service running up to Park Halt on each day. And if you’re looking for the ultimate Father’s Day experience why not try the Driver For A Fiver? Your chance to drive an engine, under instruction, on one of the sidings.

Organisers are expecting up to ten layouts in a variety of scales: O, OO, N and 009, at least.  Layouts will include: Halifax King Cross (P4), Watts Crossing (N), Little Aire (OO), Barnstoneworth (OO) and Coombe Bridge (009), together with Paul Lunn offering layout ideas.  Reminding us that model railways are fun too we have vintage Tri-ang OO and some ‘hands on’ layouts – all upstairs in our ‘play room’!  Traders will include Keith’s Model Railways, Leigh Models and Hobbies, Leeds Transport Historical Society and second hand tables.

Family admission to the exhibition only costs £10 or £18 with unlimited train rides. For full details please check Middleton Railway’s website: www.middletonrailway.org.uk.

Middleton Railway is located on Moor Road in Hunslet, just off the Tunstall Road roundabout.
