Nicola Willmore, of Throstle Lane, failed to pay the £75 fixed penalty notice issued after dog wardens found her dog wandering the streets in April this year.

Willmore was fined £40.00, now must pay a £20 victim surcharge and costs totalling £405.

Wardens responding to a complaint of a dog showing aggressive behaviour saw the dog in local playing fields. Before they could secure the animal, it ran over Middleton Park Avenue bringing traffic to a sudden standstill.

The dog was eventually contained within a nearby garden when Willmore attended claiming the escapee dog was hers.

As it is an offence under Leeds’ dog control order that requires all dogs to be on a lead when on paths, pavements or verges next to roads, Willmore was issued with the fixed penalty notice. Failure to pay resulted in prosecution.
