Northern Ballet’s hotly-anticipated new ballet for children Three Little Pigs will première in Leeds this October and it’s set to blow the house down.

The second production in Northern Ballet’s series of Short Ballets for Small People, Three Little Pigs has been created to introduce families and young children to live dance, music and theatre. It will be performed in three venues across Leeds including The Hunslet Club on 20th October.

Three little pigs

Three Little Pigs follows the sell-out success of Ugly Duckling which toured to over twenty venues and delighted audiences and critics. Choreographed by Northern Ballet dancers Hannah Bateman and Victoria Sibson, Three Little Pigs tells the famous story of how the pigs overcome the Big Bad Wolf in a colourful, funny and entertaining 40 minute performance. Tickets are priced at just £4 and £5.

Selina McGonagle, Director of Learning at Northern Ballet said:

“We are very excited about our next Short Ballet Three Little Pigs. We hope it gives more children and families in Leeds the opportunity to visit the theatre and see Ballet for the first time.”

Three Little Pigs will be accompanied by education activities in communities across Leeds, including a Family Fun Day at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm on Saturday 7th September. Selina added:

“We will be working with a variety of community groups in Chapeltown and Hunslet. We hope that by delivering fun, movement and play activity based around little piggies, we will encourage families who may not usually come to see us to give ballet a go.”

There will be three shows of Three Little Pigs at The Hunslet Club on Sunday 20th October at 2:30, 4:00 and 6:00pm. To book tickets go to Northern Ballet’s website: www.northernballet/threelittlepigs.
