Plans revealed for new Ruth Gorse Academy

The Ruth Gorse Academy, the new high school to be built near the Royal Armouries in Hunslet has revealed plans for its new buildings.

As previously reported on South Leeds Life, the school which will provide education for 11-18 year olds will be built on the former Yorkshire Chemicals site on Black Bull Street in Hunslet. The £23 million building will feature state-of-the-art teaching facilities as well as on-site sports facilities. It is hoped to open the site to use by local residents.

The Ruth Gorse Academy opened last September in temporary accommodation at Morley Academy and plans to move to its new home in time for the 2016/17 school year.
