Police have arrested a man after being called to Middleton Park Avenue

A fight in the street in Middleton has left a man with what are understood to be head injuries caused by a knife.

Police arrested a man in Middleton Park Avenue at about 3:20pm this afternoon (15 December 2017). A West Yorkshire Police spokesman told the Yorkshire Evening Post:

“Officers and emergency services attended to find one man who had suffered injuries which appeared to have been caused by a knife.

“A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of affray and is custody. The victim was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment to a none life threatening head injury. Enquiries remain ongoing by Leeds CID.”

The incident is reported to have taken place close to Middleton Primary School.
