Runners Urged To Join Cross Flatts Parkrun

Parkrun Apr13 b

Forty Four runners turned up for the third weekly Parkrun in Cross Flatts Park on Saturday morning.

Runners of all ages and abilities turned up to run a measured and timed 5 km course around the park. Some runners clearly knew each other and many didn’t, but that didn’t disturb the friendly atmosphere.

Parkrun is less about racing others and more about measuring your own progress. Everyone had their eye on their own “personal best”, whether that was to finish the course, or to complete it without walking, or to get a “good time”.

Entry is free and there’s plenty of encouragement from the volunteer marshalls and from other runners. The hardest thing is to get up on a Saturday in time for the 9:00am start, but it’s a great way to start your weekend.
