South Leeds Life launches newspaper

South Leeds Life has gone into print with a free 12-page tabloid newspaper.

SLL NewspaperThe paper, which will be available a community venues across South Leeds from next week, will make its debut at our stall at Beeston Festival on Saturday (14 June 2014).

We have decided to go into print to reach more residents in the area, especially those who aren’t online yet. The newspaper will kick off a campaign to encourage more residents to volunteer their time and skills in the community. It also has a report from South Leeds Foodbank as well as looking ahead to summer galas, local history and sport.

This first edition of the newspaper is a pilot. If it is successful we hope to produce a regular monthly newspaper starting in the autumn. To be financially sustainable we will be looking for advertisers. We also need someone to sell advertising for us – this will be paid work so if you are interested please get in touch by emailing info@sllife.leeds11.com.

We really want to know what you think of the newspaper, both good and bad points, so please get in touch once you’ve read it.

We previously had a partnership with local charity Health For All who published a quarterly magazine also called South Leeds Life, but they had to stop publishing in 2012 due to lack of funds.
