Marvin’s Combo, a Caribbean Steel Band will kick off the season on Sunday (21 June 2015). As well as live music there will be children’s craft activities, stalls, a raffle and of course refreshments including home made cakes.

In future weeks you’ll be able to enjoy Alistair Russell & Chris Parkinson (folk), Swing of Things (sizzling swing), Alligator Gumbo (New Orleans jazz) and Dr Reelgood (Ceilidh band with dance caller). All shows run from 2:30-4:30pm.

On 5 July the concert will coincide with the 12th Annual Beeston Dog Show. This is for pedigree and non-pedigree dogs and includes fun classes, such as the ‘dog with the waggiest tail’, and a veteran class. The show aims to promote and celebrate responsible dog ownership. Registration starts at 1:30pm, judging starts at 2:30pm.

The concerts take place in the Watsonian Pavilion which is located near the top (Beeston Road) of the park between the bowling greens and the small children’s playground.

The concerts are put on by Friends of Cross Flatts Park with financial support from the Inner South Community Committee. If you would like to help with setting up the events just come along 30 minutes early, new volunteers are always welcome.
