White Rose bike event is a great success

An event designed to encourage people to use cycling as a means of travelling to White Rose Shopping Centre, proved a great success.

Cyclists were able to have their bicycles recorded and registered free of charge by West Yorkshire Police and were also given a free D-lock as an added incentive.

White Rose Shopping Centre travel planning coordinator Stephanie Hunter, said: “Cycling is a highly sustainable way of getting to the centre and we want to encourage staff and customers to use this mode of transport.”

“We were delighted by the number of people who came to have their bicycle stamped and receive a free D-lock.”

White Rose has cycle stations located around the site and employees who ride to work are able to use showers situated in the toilets at the north end of the centre.
